WMU-Women's Missionary Union

Leader: Dee Jones

What is WMU?  Our vision statement sums up our missional focus:  WMU challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God.

Change a Life.  Change the World®.  Is more than a catchy tagline-it's what happens through WMU around the world every day.  It happens as preschoolers, children, students, and adults pray for missions, give to missions, learn about missionaries and the people whom they serve, and minister to needs and share the love of Christ.  It is our privilege to provide opportunities for missions discipleship and involvement so that all the world may know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

WMU was founded in 1888 as an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention for the purpose of "stimulating the missionary spirit" and "collecting funds" for the mission boards.  These were the two original stated jobs for which women organized.

Much has changed since 1888.  Although WMU was originally an organization for women, today WMU engages all ages-both male and female-in missions.  Approaches for missions involvement have changed with the times.  Delivery methods continue to change.  But one thing has remained a constant for 125 years-our singular focus remains on missions.

All Ladies are Welcome!

The group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:30am
