Leadership

Shepherd the flock of God which is among you,
serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;  nor as being lords over those entrusted to you,
But being examples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:2-3, NKJV

Senior Pastor

Jamie Martin

Pastor Jamie was called to Jessup Baptist Church in January 2026. Previously, he served as an associate pastor for seven years and has been in ministry for a total of 12 years. Ever since he came to Christ as a teenager, he has felt called to be a pastor. In pursuit of that calling, he immediately busied himself with preparation: teaching Sunday school series; leading small groups and Bible studies; and preaching at homeless shelters, nursing homes, and churches.

He also pursued formal education earning his Bachelor of Religion from Liberty University, his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, since 2010. Together, they have six wonderful blessings, ranging from ages 1 to 13.

His favorite books (other than the Bible) are Charles Spurgeon's Lectures to My Students, Voddie Baucham's Family Shepherds, Randy Alcorn's The Treasure Principle, and John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress. His favorite songs are "Grace Greater than Our Sin," "Complete in Thee," "Be Thou My Vision," "Wondrous King All Glorious," and "God Be Merciful to Me" (Psalm 51).

Deacon

Allen Fahey

Allen grew up in church but was very rebellious toward God. Thankfully, God didn’t stop calling him. Eventually, he gave in to God and, in 1995, gave his life to him. His wife (who was not yet his wife at the time), Lisa, also became a Christian. They decided to attend Jessup Baptist Church since Lisa grew up in the area. They were both baptized at JBC by Reverend Mitchell shortly after coming. And in 1996, they were married at JBC by Reverend Mitchell. In 1999, they were blessed with twin boys, Justin and Tyler. In 2003, they were blessed again with a daughter, Ashlee.

Around 2005, Allen was approached by Pastor Gary and a deacon asking him to serve as a deacon. After a lot of prayer and questioning, he was ordained.

Allen’s favorite verse is John 14:6 because it shows there is only one way to God, and that is through his Son, Jesus Christ: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"
